Accommodation will be basic compared to what most volunteers are used to at home. However it is clean and basic facilities are available.
If you are staying in Nairobi, you can expect your accommodation to have power and running water (though not necessarily hot).
You can also have the option of living with a local family in Kibera if this is where your project is located.
The following photos show the living area, kitchen, bathroom and volunteer bedroom from one host family:
Like many areas in Rural Kenya access to constant power and running water is limited. Some places have power from solar panels or a generator meaning that power may only be available at certain times.
