Help Us

St. Christine is offering a new start for orphans and vulnerable children and other disadvantaged children. The focus is to empower them and eliminate all barriers that may come in their way as a consequence of action by those entrusted to enable them fulfill their dreams. St. Christine’s is appealing for collaboration, support and funding from other like minded development agencies, NGO’s, international funding agencies and individuals, to allow it fulfill its mission of safeguarding children for the next generation.

Needs Assessment

St. Christine’s Community Center/School has critically felt to intervene ans expand on the government policy of free primary education and some programmes. New strategies and programmes have been devised to reshape the focus of the center and its scope of its work to target specific community needs. Through a series of discussion with the local residents and facts finding mission to the key area problems identified includes; poor sanitation, lack of clean piped water, poor infrastructure, unemployment, low incomes, high crime rate, poor environment and HIV/AIDS.

To address most of these challenges St. Christine’s Community Center/School is developing a comprehensive strategic blue print for social actions. Therefore after a phased work plan shall be implemented in partnership with other civil society organizations, donors, agencies and development partners.


Immediate Needs

If you can help us with any of the following, please contact Mr Charles Ochieng, the director of St Christine’s Community Centre/School.

  1. Desks, chairs, cupboards, black boards and tables.
  2. Stationery, balls, ropes and toys.
  3. Perimeter fencing.
  4. Allowances and salaries for teachers, cooks, and guards.
  5. Utensils, cups, plates, Jiko (stove), spoons, jugs, fuel and pans for feeding programme.

Future Plans

  1. Buying furniture, blackboards, learning materials, supplementary textbooks, stationery and children play equipment (eg. toys, balls and ropes).
  2. Sponsorships/scholarships for orphans and needy children, and provision of uniforms and shoes for students.
  3. Empowering single parents on issues that affect their lives by training them on income generating activities and technical skills.
  4. Erecting child-friendly perimeter fencing and employing a security guard.
  5. Training teachers and raising their salaries.
  6. Capacity-building workshops for members of the St Christine’s community.
  7. Constructing spacious classrooms, an administration block including a secure store room for books, etc.
  8. Constructing a library block and acquiring computers.
  9. Creating a brochure and presentations for St Christine’s.
